The Unicorn

Tears in my heart
My soul ripped apart
You came then you left and
Left me in the dark
I thought love was free
That it was meant to be
One word struck my heart and
My heart died in me

Darkness around
Silencing sound
I cry to the night and
The night turns me down
I lie torn on the bed
Shattered dreams in my head
My love turns to dust and
The dust feels so dead

Now the unicorn sings a mournful song
I waited for you my whole life long
Butterflies die and hearts go cold
I'll still wait for you as I grow old
With angel wings the unicorn soars
She flies right past my bedroom door
I'm left alone
All alone

A knock on my door
I just sit on the floor
It soon leaves me here and
Here I cry some more
The end of the day
It's painful to say
Oh God please, please no
Please don't take yourself away

I thought I'd find
A man for my mind
You came then you left and
Left me here behind
I lie torn on the bed
Shattered dreams in my head
My love turns to dust and
I know love is dead

Now the unicorn sings a mournful song
I waited for you my whole life long
Butterflies die and hearts go cold
I'll still wait for you as I grow old
With angel wings the unicorn soars
She flies right past my bedroom door
I'm left alone
All alone

I lie torn on the bed
Shattered dreams in my head
My love turns to dust and
I know love is dead

The unicorn dances in pale moonlight
She spreads silent wings of cold cold white
And she soars away through the stars and the night
And she soars away toward dawn's distant bright
And she leaves me alone

The End
